Sukhothai has just joined four other cities (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Koh Samui and Phuket) as the latest addition to the growing whl.travel network of travel destinations in Thailand. The recently unveiled website can be visited at www.sukhothai-hotel-link.com.

Sukhothai, the literal meaning of which is ‘Dawn of Happiness’, was the capital city of the very first Thai state. The superb temples and monuments of this once-great centre have been lovingly restored and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Steeped in cultural history as well – the Thai alphabet and language are believed to have originated here – it’s a must-see for all travellers interested in the heritage of modern-day Siam.

As elsewhere in Thailand, visitors to Sukhothai can also expect festival parades, lively arts, mouth-watering cuisine and, of course, the fabled warmth of Thai hospitality. There’s plenty of things to see and do!

เมืองสุโขไทยชึ่งมีความหมายตามตัวอักษรว่า “รุ่งอรุณแห่งความสุข” ชึ่งเป็นนครใหญ่แห่งราชการไทยในเมื่อก่อน. อาราม และ อนุษรสถานที่เป็นจุดสูญกลางอันยิ่งใหญ่มาครั้งหนึ่ง ได้ถูกปฎิสังขรณ์ ชึ่งได้มีการรับรองเป็นเมืองมรดกโลกจาก UNESCO. ผ่านมาเคยมีความเป็นมาด้านวัฒนธรรมอันรุ่งเรือง – ตัวอักษร และ พาษาไทยยังเชื่อกันว่า มันได้ถือกำเนีดขื้นณที่นี้ – ชึ่งเป็นที่พบเห็นของนักท่องเที่ยวที่มีความสนใจในมรดกแห่งประเทศสยามในปัจจุบัน.
