This photo was taken on a visit to one of the perfect beaches of the Los Roques islands. The place evoked a deep feeling of peace and calmness, a sensation which is natural in this kind of landscape. My memories of the breeze, gentle as it was, along with the calm sea and the deep, vibrant blues that collided with each other out to the horizon, remind me of nothing but the pleasure of being in such pristine surroundings, and our profound connection to nature as human beings.

Just think of letting your feet sink into the warmth of the sugar-white sand while the water rushes up to reach them. Imagine inhaling that refreshing ocean scent, and you will start to understand that this is no regular place to be!

Locals appreciate the surrounding environment. Even though there is technology involved in every-day life, the connection with nature is undeniably part of their lives, and it becomes very obvious when you notice the joy and kindness in their behaviour.

This is their home, our home, and we cannot help but be inspired by such beauty.
