On April 29, at the 2010 Travel Distribution Summit Asia in Singapore, a Web Innovation Award for Best Travel Startup of the Year was awarded to Urban Adventures. Urban Adventures, which was also shortlisted in the Most Exciting New Use of Technology in Travel category, was launched in October 2009 and has quickly grown into a global force, recently featured on Getaway, Australia’s favourite travel show.

After 1368 nominations from 113 countries followed by 611 entries from 81 countries, a panel of expert judges — including a Nobel Peace Prize winner, a co-founder of Lonely Planet and the editor of National Geographic Traveler magazine — selected 10 finalists and now all the votes for the final three are being counted.
