A Ground Zero Tour: Lessons in Remembering

Compelled by curiosity about how Ground Zero is presented to people unfamiliar with it, I elected to join a 2.5-hour Ground Zero tour set to circumnavigate the new and emerging World Trade Center, taking in its history, its buildings (past and present) and reminders of just some of the people and events from the day.

It’s not an exaggeration to state that 10 years ago today the world changed dramatically for a huge number of people. Aside from the obvious tragedy of the 9/11 attacks in New York City and Washington, DC, the events of that day have had a major impact on the ways that many of us live our lives. We would like to take a moment to think about how 9/11 and the decade since have had an effect on a subject close to our hearts – Travel.
