As usual, I was travelling around South America with my girlfriend. During our research on Peru we read a lot about the Miraflores neighbourhood in Lima and decided to stay there for a few days before leaving for Cusco and Machu Picchu.

On our way to our hostel, the taxi driver that picked us up at the airport insisted on driving us along this beautiful road by the sea called La Costa Verde – the Green Coast. We didn’t think twice about dropping our bags in the hostel and getting back there as quickly as we could!

The area is a stretch of excellent beaches with fine waves for surfing. You can find several surf schools and rent a surfboard if you need to. It’s also common to see paragliders jumping from the top of the cliff.

Theis place is definitely one of the highlights of Lima for me.
