Seoul, meaning ‘the centre of everything’, burst onto the radar of people who knew little about the East when it hosted the 1988 Summer Olympic Games. This major metropolis, capital of South Korea and the 10th largest city in the world, offers a diversity of experiences in keeping with its size and passion for what’s modern. However, in addition to a strong and lucrative contemporary business appeal, Seoul also offers travellers its delicate cuisine and a culture steeped in ancient traditions.

The Banpo Fountain Bridge is the world's longest such fountain (1140 meters), opened on the Banpo crossing of the Han River in central Seoul

Seoul serves up an assortment of experiences for both experienced and not-so-experienced travellers, from ancient palaces, temples and pagodas, as well as magnificent museums, all displaying the glories of centuries past, to trips into the surrounding region. Of the latter, if you’re interested in seeing the great divide between North Korea and South Korea, you can embark on a half-day DMZ (demilitarized zone) tour, while history buffs who want to sample traditional Korean life can take the Korea Folk Village Tour. Alternatively if shopping and dining are more your style, you will not leave disappointed. Of course, this all comes with a wide range of hotels, all carefully hand picked for your convenience.

whl.travel’s launch of www.theseoul-hotels.com, the first in South Korea, connects travellers to local experts Cindy, Christine and the team at Holiday Planners.

“I am very happy today to see that we are becoming a part of the whl.travel network and have a new opportunity to offer our well-prepared programs and hotels for travellers around the world who are using whl.travel portals for their travel,” said Cindy on behalf of the team. “All of us at Holiday Planners are extremely impressed by the philosophy adopted at whl.travel, the commitment and hard work done in developing the portals. We will follow whl.travel’s standard and philosophy because we know that it will improve our standard also.”

The Seoul destination portal adds to whl.travel’s others in East Asia, following Shanghai in mainland China and the site for Mongolia.

Thank you for sharing this news and the prefatory write up.

I would like to congratulate Cindy, Christine and the entire Holiday Planners team on the launch of Korea\’s first WHL portal, http://www.theseoul-hotels.com.

It is looking great and reflects the time and effort invested by them in the past several months. It also reminds me of the enthusiasm they showed during the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference held in Vietnam in July.

I hope that this portal turns out to be a huge success and beneficial to all involved, including the travellers and the tourism service providers of Korea.
